the boy who lives 
in a notebook 
measures his time 
by faded blue lines, 
traces his history 
page by page, 
memories melded, 
fused and welded 
into a single, 
immutable past— 
even as the future casts 
a shadow tall and gray 
across the travelogue of 
a wandering mind.
